About Hammer Strength

Strength training changed when Gary Jones created Hammer Strength in 1989.

With ingenuity, and input from the Cincinnati Bengals, he constructed machines with performance in mind—effective machines that move the way that the body does.

Hammer Strength was built on the pure performance of plate-loaded strength equipment. But for nearly 30 years it has grown to include rugged racks and rigs, selectorized strength equipment, barbells, dumbbells, weight plates and other strength training tools.

I looked at starting Hammer Strength as something that I believed in. I was just trying to make machines better.

— Gary Jones, Founder of Hammer Strength
